It's been interesting. Our daughter and two cats have settled nicely into the guest room. Both cats are delighted to have as much food as they can eat. The oldest one has started purring again - and there's no sound better than that of a purring cat.
Today or tomorrow we can pick up her third cat from Memphis Animal Shelter. She had surrendered him because she was unable to care for him. We went down to the shelter the morning after he was surrendered to officially adopt the young cat. That way he could get medical care while at the shelter and remain safe, warm, and fed in the interim.
When family and friends learn of our daughter's situation, every one of them has been thankful she is at home. And every one of them has said, "....at least she's safe, warm, and fed..."
She has had a very difficult life the past two+ years. Full recovery will take time. But we are thankful that in the interim she is "safe, warm, and fed".
